About Learning curve
Learning curve is a small running stitch script font.
Learning curve ships as 109 pre-digitized glyphs. Each letter is a set of satin columns with its stitch direction, underlay and pull compensation already decided by the person who drew it — the same reason a real embroidery font beats converting a desktop typeface, where the outline is only a shape and something has to guess at the stitching.
What size to stitch it at
The font was digitized at 16mm cap height. Treat that as the size it looks best at, and scale within roughly half to double it without worrying. Script faces are the least forgiving when shrunk, because the joins between letters are the thinnest satin in the design and they are the first thing to break down.
What it is good for
Learning curve suits names, monograms and gift work — anything where handwriting reads warmer than type. Give it room: script letters connect, so cramped spacing turns the joins into a solid bar.
Downloading Learning curve as a stitch file
There is nothing to install. Type your text in the text generator, set the height, arch the baseline if you want a curve, and export. The same design writes to PES (Brother, Baby Lock), DST (Tajima and most industrial machines), JEF and SEW (Janome, Elna), EXP (Melco, Bernina), VP3 (Husqvarna Viking, Pfaff) and XXX (Singer), so you can take the same lettering to whichever machine you are on. If you already have the file in the wrong format, the file converter will re-encode it.
